Walt Disney World & World Travels

To add to the previous post, here is a video of the expansion plans!

I’ve been waiting for this news.  Castaway Cay is AWESOME,  but if you’re going to be bringing more people there with a bigger ship, then you’ll need more room for them.

What am I talking about?   In preparation of the new ships Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy; Castaway Cay is getting a makeover.  It actually looks to be a major expansion and overhaul more than just a makeover.  A few of the headlines: new/expanded family beach area, another picnic shelter for the buffet lunch, a new teen hideout area, new water play areas –in the water and on land!   More information

As I said, I’ve been waiting for this announcement.   I saw signs of this in July; there were large construction vehicles/tools on the island and some work was starting.  While I’ve been fortunate to visit Castaway Cay during some lower crowd times, I can see how it could get very busy.  Bring in the new ships and more than double the amount of people….It was going to be crowded.  The great thing is, this island has plenty of room for expansion and the ability to leave much of the island undisturbed.

This is very exciting news.  I can’t wait to see how it turns out!    Hmmm, sounds like a good reason to book another cruise 🙂

To get you in the mood for Epcots International food and Wine Festival here is video of Master Chef Brian Piasecki showing  us how to make the one and only Cheddar Cheese soup from Le Cellier.

If you’ve read any of my trip reports, you know that I love to go to LeCellier in Canada; and this soup is my favorite thing on the menu!  My loving husband has even made it for me for my birthday.

For all of us Disney cruise addicts, today was an exciting day;  the laying of the keel of the new Disney Dream!

There are a lot of reasons you should use an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, this story below is one really good reason….

Seven busted for slipping tourists a Mickey with bad tickets

Disney Vacations can be done economically, but remember if it’s too good to be true, then it probably is!

The Howie Day song Collide put together to Disney Animation clips.  I really like the song, add Disney movie clips and I’m all over it.  Hope you enjoy it!

As you’ve probably noticed, I love to eat while at Disney.   Eating “Disney food” at home is a good way to feel like you’ve brought a little of the magic home with you.  So I’ve decided to add another category to this blog; recipes.  Keep checking back for new recipes & ask away if you have one that you’d like to see.

Here’s a recipe that we all love & is perfect on a hot summer day; chilled strawberry soup.

Strawberry Soup

  • 2 lbs 8 oz strawberries, frozen, thawed with juice
  • 16 oz heavy cream
  • 2 oz sour cream
  • 3 oz yogurt
  • 1/2 lb fresh strawberries for garnish
  1.  Mix thawed strawberries (and juice), heavy cream, sour cream and yogurt.
  2.  Beat slowly until well mixed AND a smooth consistency.  May need to blend in several small batches if mixing in blender.
  3.  Chill, shake/stir well before serving
  4.  Garnish with fresh strawberry halves

Enjoy!
